WeightSnap ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Tyler Brown, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the WeightSnap mobile application.

Summary

The short version: Your health data stays on your device. We don't require accounts to use the app, and your weight entries, photos, and measurements are not stored on any server we control. We rely on two external services for specific optional features: RevenueCat for managing premium subscriptions, and an AI processing service for coaching insights. Your progress photos are never shared with either service, and we don't sell your data.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

WeightSnap stores all of the following information locally on your device only:

• Weight entries: Your weight measurements and the dates you logged them
• Progress photos: Photos you take or select within the app
• Body measurements: Any measurement annotations you add to photos
• Profile information: Name, height, biological sex, and preferences you provide during setup
• App settings: Your preferences for units, themes, notifications, and features

This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and remains on your iPhone. WeightSnap does not operate its own servers or databases for your health data, so your weight entries, photos, and measurements never leave your device except when you explicitly use the AI coaching feature (see below) or choose to share content. Subscription and purchase data is handled separately by RevenueCat (see Subscription Management below).

Apple Health Integration

If you choose to enable Apple Health integration, WeightSnap can:

• Read: Weight data from Apple Health to import historical entries
• Write: Weight entries you create in WeightSnap to Apple Health (if you enable this option)

This data exchange happens entirely on your device between WeightSnap and Apple Health. No Health data is sent to external services.

AI Coaching Feature

If you choose to use the AI coaching feature to get personalized insights:

• Your weight data and relevant profile information are sent to our AI processing service
• The data is used only to generate your response and is not stored after processing
• Progress photos are never sent to the AI service

Subscription Management

WeightSnap offers an optional premium subscription. To process purchases, validate subscriptions, and keep your premium access in sync across your devices, we use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service.

When you buy or restore a premium subscription, RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous identifier generated for your app installation
• Purchase and transaction data: which product you bought, purchase and renewal dates, and your current subscription status
• Device and system information used to validate purchases and prevent fraud

RevenueCat never receives your weight data, progress photos, body measurements, or any health information. It only handles the purchase and subscription data needed to manage your premium access. You can review how RevenueCat handles data in its privacy policy.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require you to create an account
• We do not collect your email address (unless you contact us for support)
• We do not track your location
• We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs
• We do not serve advertisements
• We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we never share it with third parties for their own marketing

Data Storage and Security

All personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage frameworks, protected by your device's passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS encryption.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual entries, use Settings to reset all data, or simply uninstall the app.

Website Analytics

This policy covers the WeightSnap mobile app. Our website at weightsnap.app uses Google Analytics to measure general visitor traffic, such as which pages are viewed and the approximate region visitors come from. This is separate from the app and does not involve any of your in-app health data. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Children's Privacy

WeightSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
